Our Speciality Services Include:

Anti-Coagulation (Protime)

A blood test called "protime" is used to monitor anticoagulant therapy with Coumadin (generic name Warfarin). The tests are ordered on a frequency determined by your medical condition and physician orders.

Prairie Clinic Protime Center is staffed by Registered Nurses who perform blood tests (protimes) for patients undergoing anticoagulant therapy. Lab results are obtained within minutes in order to make appropriate medication adjustment. The nurses also provide patient education, and ongoing monitoring or adjustment of medication under physician supervision.

In-House Diagnostic and Laboratory Services

  • X-Ray and Bone Density

Radiology services are provided by certified radiology technologists. The x-ray is read by your provider at the time of your visit and sent to be officially "over-read" by a radiologist. The final results are typically available in 2-3 days.

Bone Density is a way for physicians to detect and treat early signs of bone deficiency - like osteoporosis. A bone density scan is a special type of x-ray test used to measure the mineral content of the bone, usually in the lower back and the hips.

  • Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging is a diagnostic tool that uses sound waves to produce images of various structures of the body. Obstetric Ultrasound is the use of ultrasound scans in pregnancy. Ultrasound scan is currently considered to be a safe, non-invasive, accurate and cost-effective investigation of the fetus.

  • Lab

Prairie Clinic offers laboratory testing services from blood work to tissue samples to assist physicians in diagnosing disease, monitoring health, and evaluating therapy.

Prairie Clinic laboratory has a CLIA - Certificate of Accreditation as a result of the ongoing commitment to providing quality patient services.

Laboratory results may be available at the time of visit or it may take several days, depending on the test ordered. Lab test results are reported to the patient only after they have been reviewed by the physician. In order for your results to be given to a family member or anyone else, a release must be signed by you and kept on file. This practice protects your confidential records.

  • Test Results

We understand patients are anxious to receive test results. Most routine lab test results are received in the office and reviewed by the physician within a week, but some tests take somewhat longer.

If a test result is found to be a critical value, you will be notified at once by the provider. All other test results will be relayed to you by mail, patient portal or a telephone call from your provider's assistant.

If you have not received your test results within ten days, please call and leave a message requesting the results. Your provider's assistant will be glad to return your call.
